Laimikis Urban games and research Lab takes part at Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism / Architecture “Cities Grow in Difference” (Hong Kong / Shenzhen) at the section, devoted to “Urban Villages”. By the invitation of the curatorial team we presented an exhibition “Urban Patchwork”, which explores the urban contrasts and fading materiality of the historic neighbourhood of Šnipiškės, Vilnius. It was the first time Lithuania took part at the biggest Biennale of Urbanism and Architecture, which is presented as the biggest event of this kind. Here we overview the Biennale and its urban context. The main venue of the Biennale was located in Nantou, the ancient city, which has become a part of Shenzhen due to the rapid growth and urbanization.

Septintojoje Šenženo-Honkongo urbanizmo ir architektūros bienalėje Laimikis.lt pristatė Šnipiškėms skirtą ekspoziciją, kurią pavadinome “Urbanistinis koliažas” (Urban Patchwork). Lietuva šioje stambiausia vadinamoje urbanizmo bienalėje, kuri vyksta Šenžene ir Honkonge, dalyvauja pirmą kartą. Kuratorių kvietimu sukūrėme seriją darbų (meninių nuotraukų seriją, meniniai koliažai, interaktyvus objektas), atskleidžiančių unikalius istorinio Vilniaus rajono faktūrų sąskambius ir urbanistinius kontrastus. Tam pasitelkėme nuolat taisomo audinio metaforą. Bienalės tema – “Cities grow in difference“, o viena iš potemių – “Kaimai mieste”. Pagrindinė Bienalės dalis vyko senajame mieste Nantou, kuris kadaise tapo augančio Šanženo dalimi ir virto “kaimu mieste”. Apie bienalę ir šį istorinį “kaimo mieste” rajone – šiame įraše.

During “Kaunas Jazz” festival a solo exhibition by Mindaugas Juodis, “Fragments Jazz” was opened at “MJ Studia” gallery (Rotušės a. 1, Kaunas).

Nuvykusios į “Kaunas Jazz” Giedrė ir Ūkana pakalbino juvelyrą Mindaugą Juodį, kuris kaip tik atidarė asmeninę tapybos parodą “Fragmentai – Jazz” (Rotušės a. 1). Paroda veiks iki gegužės 28 d.

An exhibition “Jump-photography: inside and outside. Flâneuse experience” was opened today at Ў Gallery of Contemporary Art in Minsk. Congrads to Laimikis.lt photographers, who took part in the exhibition! It will remain open till October 26th.

Darryl is an initiator of “Street Clash” contest for street fashion bloggers and an organizer of the exhibition
Laimikis.lt represented Vilnius passers-by on the international street fashion contest and took a second place. Now we went to Berlin to see Darryl and participate in the collective photo exhibition.

Šiandien Berlyne prasideda antrasis Gatvės madų ir meno festivalis Wedding Dress #2. Iki vasario 10d. veiks kūrybinės dirbtuvės, vyks parodos, vakarėliai. Viena iš oficialios programos dalių – kolektyvinė “Street Clash” paroda, kurioje dalyvauja ir Laimikis.lt. Parodoje bus eksponuojami stilingų miestų praeivių portretai.
