Co-Design workshops in 4 neighbourhoods | Atviro kodo lauko baldai: 4 bendruomeninės erdvės
Autorius: Laimikis.lt
Open Code Urban Furniture is a construction set adaptive to the needs and wishes of different neighbourhoods. It consists of several wooden and concrete modules, which are instrumental in arranging a space for sharing. See the schemes and documentation here.
A series of open code urban furniture workshops are run in 4 Vilnius neighbourhoods, which were interested in testing a new urban furniture, in cooperation with the local residents. 4 furniture sets, 4 Vilnius neighbourhoods – and 4 different scenarios of use, to understand how public spaces and urban furniture work.
Urban furniture is not only a tool for configuring new community spaces, but also a method for revealing the logics of neighbourhood places. Depending on the level of trust in the neighbourhood, people either choose or refuse to install drawers or to attach light wooden details to the steal-proof concrete-cube. In some cases the residents choose colors according to the color identity of the neighbourhood or some political preferences.
After an intensive series of brainstorm and production from the end of April till the mid of May, two last weekends of May are reserved for the a series of Open code urban furniture workshops in four Vilnius neighbourhoods. The first two workshops of this series took place at Antakalničių sodas (Antakalnis) and Dragon’s field (Šnipiškės) on 2015 June 23 and 24. And next two took place in Lazdynai and šv. Stepono street on June 30 and 31. Each space is different from the others: while in Antakalnis there is the first community garden, located in the historical park, the wooden Šnipikės experiences the redevelopment pressure, Lazdynai is a residential area built in the Soviets, and šv. Stepono spot is an inner yard in the old town of Vilnius! You will find th edocumentation below.
The research undertaken to develop this idea was supported by the European Cultural Foundation.

Lt baldų komplekto modeliukai ir instrukcijos, kaip pritaikyti baldą savo bendruomenės poreikiams – integrali kiekvienų Atviro kodo miesto baldų dirbtuvių kaimynijose dalis

Nuo balandžio pradžios iki gegužės pabaigos trukusios Atvirko kodo miesto baldų dirbtuvės, kurių tikslas buvo išgryninti techninį sprendimą, leidžiantį kiekvienai kaimynijai pritaikyti modulines baldo detales savo poreikiams, perėjo į antrą fazę. Paskutiniai du gegužės savaitgaliai skirti dirbtuvėms kaimynijose, kur kartu su vietos gyventojais įkūriame po vieną lauko baldų komplektą, pritaikydami jį bendruomenės poreikiams. Vietą ir baldo konfigūraciją atviro kodo baldo įrengimui siūlo vietos gyventojai. 4 atviro kodo baldų komplektai, 4 rajonai, 4 skiritingi naudojimo scenarijai.

ANTAKALNIS, 2o15 o5 23:
• Antakalnis garden (Sapiegų park) is the first community garden in Vilnius, and the very first neighbourhood in Vilnius, which tested this furniture!
• Antakalniečių sodas – pirmasis bendruomeninis daržas Vilniuje, kurio nariai pirmieji prisijuakino ir mūsų lauko baldus.
MEDINĖS ŠNIPIŠKĖS, 2o15 o5 24:
• Open Code Urban Furniture workshop at the wooden neighbourhood of Šnipiškės with the active participation of the residents.
• Atviro kodo miesto baldų dirbtuvės medinėse Šnipiškėse, aktyviai padedant šnipiškiečiams Miroslavui, Kamiliui, Emiliui, Artūrui, Astai ir būriui vietinių vaikų:)
LAZDYNAI: Jonažolių kaimas, 2o15 o5 30:
• Open Code Urban Furniture workshop at Lazdynai with the active participation of the local families, who also arranged a table as a part of Open Code Urban Furniture set.
• Atviro kodo miesto baldų dirbtuvės Lazdynuose, aktyviai padedant “Jonažolių kaimo” šeimoms.
Šv. STEPNO: GĖLIŲ KALNELIS (Sodo 7 / šv. Stepono 22), 2o15 o5 31:
• Open Code Urban Furniture workshop at šv. Stepono with the active participation of local kids and a couple of the residents.
